ACADEMY AWARD NOMINEE
ETHAN HAWKE TO GUEST STAR ON ABC'S "ALIAS"
Academy Award-nominated feature film actor Ethan Hawke has been set to guest star in an episode of the critically acclaimed and award-winning series "Alias" as James Lennox, a CIA agent whose undercover work has been compromised and his partner killed. Series heroine Sydney Bristow (Jennifer Garner) is dispatched to rescue Lennox, but what she doesn't know is that he may have gone rogue...and be a killer himself.
Hawke begins filming the episode in December, and it will air in early 2003.
Hawke was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award this year for his portrayal of a rookie cop broken in by Denzel Washington in "Training Day." His first big role was in Touchstone Picture's Academy Award-winning film "Dead Poets Society," and he then went on to star in many notable films, including "White Fang," "Reality Bites," "Before Sunrise," "Gattaca," "The Newton Boys," a remake of "Great Expectations" and the recent adaptation of the bestselling novel, "Snow Falling on Cedars."
In addition to acting, Hawke is a seasoned author, writing his first novel, The Hottest State, which was published by Little Brown in 1996, and recently completing the well-received novel Ash Wednesday. He directed the short film "Straight to One" and is co-founder and artistic director of the Malaparte Theater Company, based in New York.
