What I Say:

I'm loving the fun marriage of Sydney Bristow's former evil counterpart Anna Espinosa {Gina Torres}   to Heath Ledger's (aka William, er... Sir Ulrich von Lichtenstein) buddy Wat {Alan Tudyk}.  Those characters have a great understanding of one another -- and there are moments when they simply look at one another and they act so very married!  (Well now Gina is married in real life, so perhaps that helps her performance.)

This wagon train on the stars is offering good old fashioned cowboy adventures.  There are gunfights a plenty -- and all in all it is a fun visit to the tough life of the old west.  But we've outgrown westerns in a lot of ways -- so they were thoughtful enough to add a nice sci-fi element with a decent ship for bouncing between planets.

Though I have to admit a large portion of why I encourage people to tune in to Firefly is for the laughs!  There are moments when you can't help but laugh so hard you nearly miss the next bit of dialogue.

There are times when I wish they wouldn't switch to some bizarre language the audience known nothing about, but hopefully some day they will explain that in some way.

What They Say:

Set 400 years in the future, in the wake of a universal civil war, FIREFLY centers on the crew of Serenity, a small transport spaceship.  The crew members will take any job -- legal or not -- to stay afloat and put bread on their table.  Thrust together by necessity, these disparate men and women are cowboys of the future.  They're seeking adventure and the good life, but facing constant challenges on the new frontier, which test and reveal their true identities.

Using the galaxy as a backdrop to tell very human stories, FIREFLY is about the characters’ unpredictable lives and relationships, as well as their search for meaning in a very uncertain time.
