Stargate Season 7 is gearing up -- and the fans have their ears to the ground listening for any bits of hope for another spectacular season.

With interviews stating things like: One of the strongest supporting characters of SG1 has been none other than Dr. Janet Fraiser, portrayed by Canadian actress Teryl Rotherly, who said she would like to see Fraiser get in on some of the action this year. "If someone would say, 'Okay, what's your wish for season seven?', it would be that Fraiser gets to go off - base more," states Rotherly. "Certainly, the show is about the main four that travel through the gate and bring back knowledge, but it would be great if I was able to just go out with them. It would make a nice change!" Further comments from Don S. Davies, Teryl Rothery, Amanda Tapping and Corin Nemec can be found in the complete on set report in Dreamwatch magazine.

Sounds like a great idea in fact! Let's send Janet off to study some alien disease we'd rather not bring home -- maybe even save a species. The SGC doesn't have the prime directive after all!

But then that great idea has some negative potential... which is being responded to with this message going out to Stargate SG1 Fans.

It has been reported on many websites that the character of Dr. Janet Fraiser will be killed off during the 7th season of Stargate SG-1. Dr. Fraiser is an integral member of the Stargate team. She has become a trusted doctor, providing not only medical care, but emotional support and friendship. In an attempt to be proactive, please write a brief, polite note to as many people as you can at Bridge Studios and the SCIFI channel to let them know that we want Janet Fraiser to remain a part of the SGC. I'd be more thanhappy to provide a sample letter and addresses.

P.S. Feel free to forward this to anyone you can think of, and if you have a website, please feel free to post this request. I only ask that you notify me that you are doing so, because I'd like to keep track of how many websites are reached. Thank you again. Sheri

Does this Stargate SG1 loyal follower have the right idea?? Who knows. Fans did convince Stargate to bring back Daniel Jackson -- a decision that will hopefully prove as good for the show as it is for Michael Shanks career.

Nashville Star

Country Music may not have the scandals of pop music and the Michael Jackson's of the world... but the Country charts have been known to put out some amazing songs, and feature some great talents like Garth Brooks, Leann Rimes, and the Dixie Chicks. I suppose, as a results, it should come as no surprise that USA is running the Country Equivalent of American Idol featuring the likes of John Arthur Martinez

AGE: 41
HOMETOWN/CURRENTLY RESIDES: Marble Falls, TX

BIO: John Arthur owns and runs a small independent record label, but also keeps busy being the father of four children, ages 9-20. John Arthur plays a traditional brand of country music around the Austin area, and is known for singing portions of classic country songs in Spanish.

QUOTE: "Start with a Rodney Crowell lyric, stir in a James Taylor acoustic guitar lick, add a pinch of Western Swing, season with a Freddie Fender melody, and enjoy a bowl of heart-warming John Arthur Martinez chili!"

It looks like we'll have to cross the seas, and head to England to find a sales link to this wonderful sounding project:

LONDON (Reuters) - Eighteen top pop stars, including Paul McCartney and George Michael, released an album on Monday to raise money for child war victims in Iraq.

All profits from the 18-track album will go to War Child, the relief and development charity set up after the war in former Yugoslavia.

Former Beatle McCartney, who made a live recording of his song "Calico Skies," said: "Whatever the politics, whatever the rights and wrongs of war, children are always the innocent victims. So I am delighted to make this small contribution."

The charity said the "Hope" album, whose contributors also include David Bowie and Avril Lavigne, was not a political album.

"The plight of children transcends politics. These songs are a plea for hope without which the children of Iraq have nothing at all," it said

NBC has concluded an agreement with DreamWorks Television for the first computer-generated-imaging (CGI) primetime series for a major broadcast network. “Father of the Pride,” a family comedy series centering on a pride of white lions that perform in the world famous Las Vegas act of Siegfried & Roy, will debut in the Fall of 2004.

The half-hour series will incorporate much of the cheeky, edgy and ironic humor that proved so popular in the DreamWorks smash hit “Shrek.” The main storyline revolves around the competition between a family of snooty white tigers and a white lion pride from the Las Vegas act.

Normally I don't repeat posts, but today is not a normal day, so this post from my "personal" website for my writing career is going to appear both here and on the PopArtsPlace.com Television section's main page. I am doing this because I think it is wonderful in this electronic and digital age that a major corporation like Wal-Mart set aside a day to remind the youth of America that there is so much fun, and so much creativity made accessible through literacy. As for us adults... it never ceases to amaze me that people live in this country as illiterates, for there are words EVERYWHERE, and being able to read seems a skill required for survival. I have a great deal of respect for those who survive without the ability to read, because I know how hard it is for me to manage for even a few days when I travel to a country where I don't read the language, and it is made even harder when they use a different character set.

I am thankful to Walmart for supporting the organizations in this country that work with those who can't read to improve the quality of their lives, and open doors to all kinds of new and interesting literary places!

Words are your Wheels!

Participating in the Words are your Wheels program today was a lot of fun. I can't thank Wal*Mart enough for hosting such a wonderful event -- and for letting me be a part of it!

Each store had books on hand for me to read with the kids who came, and cookies and punch for the kids to enjoy while we talked about what fun reading, and writing, is.

I was also thrilled to be a part of two wonderful literacy charities receiving $1000.

I spoke at length with the folks from Literacy Austin and enjoyed it tremendously. To hear that they spend their time dealing with people who truly WANT to learn to read is wonderful. I found myself in total agreement when the Executive Director pointed out how many teenagers think of high school as a prison, and yet she deals with adults who would give anything for this chance to return to their education, and learn to read!

That $1000 that walmart gave Literacy Austin today will mean they have the money for 4 people to learn to read this year! Amazing to think a dollar a day could change another person's life.

As an aside, I had with me several fliers that mentioned the shirts I'm not selling with my "famous" quotes, and the one that got the best reaction was my personal favorite...

Don't forget I recently added items featuring the qupte:

Tomorrow night on CBS

"A Dangerous Game" – Olshansky helps a young Justice Department employee whose sister’s kidnapper is demanding information on a man in the Witness Protection Program whom he plans to murder, on a rebroadcast of HACK, Friday, April 11 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on CBS. (Originally broadcast 1/10/03)

Titus Welliver ("That’s Life," "Falcone") and James Eckhouse ("Beverly Hills, 90210") guest star.

Using Justice Department employee Jody Lincoln’s sister as leverage, a hitman/kidnapper (Welliver) coerces Jody into providing him with the secret address of Anthony Lewis Sparks (Eckhouse) in order to murder him before Sparks testifies against the powerful drug dealer who ordered the hit. Fearing that the hitman will kill Jody’s sister whether or not they fulfill his demands, Olshansky boldly snatches Sparks from a U.S. Marshall and begins his own high-stakes negotiations with the calculating killer.

And in the weeks ahead...
"All Others Pay Cash" – As Olshansky cares for his dying father who continues to demean him, Faith encourages the two to finally make peace with one another before it’s too late, on HACK, Friday, April 18 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on CBS.

Emmy and Tony Award-winner Bebe Neuwirth ("Cheers," "Sweet Charity" and "Chicago") &
Lindsay Crouse ("Places in the Heart," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer")
return as Faith O’Connor and Beth Kulvicki, respectively.

While Olshansky hopes to get his belligerent alcoholic father to finally acknowledge and apologize for his serious shortcomings as a parent, Faith -- who recognizes that the apology is unlikely -- encourages Olshansky to find peace by another means. Meanwhile, after money disappears from the church’s coffers, the bishop suspends Grizz and Olshansky tries to find the thief. Also, in an effort to show his allegiance to his father, Michael Jr. starts acting out against Heather’s boyfriend, Dr. Ryan Ambrose.

And our last little look forward...
"True Lies" – As Olshansky’s trial nears, he begins to investigate allegations that Marcellus, whom he’s been risking jail time to protect, may have secretly been on the take for years, in Part One of a two-part first season finale of HACK, Friday, April 25 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on CBS.

NASHVILLE - NBC Daytime and the Country Music Association are continuing their successful partnership for the third consecutive year at CMA's FAN FAIR® 2003. Thirteen of NBC Daytime’s hottest stars are scheduled to appear including fan favorites Kristian Alfonso (“Hope”), Bryan Dattilo (“Lucas”), Kyle Lowder (“Brady”), Peter Reckell (“Bo”), Alison Sweeney (“Sami”) and Arianne Zuker (“Nicole”) from “Days of Our Lives;” and Galen Gering (“Luis”), Justin Hartley (“Fox”), Lindsay Korman (“Theresa”), Eric Martsolf (“Ethan”), Jesse Metcalfe (“Miguel”), McKenzie Westmore (“Sheridan”) and Deanna Wright (“Kay”) from “Passions.” Each of the stars will take part in the numerous activities surrounding Fan Fair. They will sign autographs in the Wrangler® Exhibit Hall at the Nashville Convention Center and make selected appearances at the concerts held at both the Greased Lightning™ Riverfront Park Stages and The Coliseum, home of the NFL Tennessee Titans. The stars will top off the weekend with special musical performances at the highly-anticipated third annual “NBC Daytime Fan Fair After Hours Party” at the Wildhorse Saloon Saturday, June 7 (separate ticket required).

In addition, NBC Daytime is teaming up with “After MidNite With Blair Garner,” a nationally syndicated Country radio program from Premiere Radio Networks airing on more than 200 radio stations across the country each day. NBC Daytime stars will appear weekly on “After MidNite” to talk about Fan Fair as well as upcoming plot elements of “Days of Our Lives” and “Passions.” The four-week promotion will culminate with one listener receiving both a VIP trip to Fan Fair 2003 as well as a trip to Los Angeles for a walk-on role on “Days of Our Lives.” Premiere Radio Networks has a long history of supporting Fan Fair; MJI Programming, a division of Premiere Radio Networks, is the official radio broadcaster of Fan Fair.

“For the past two years, we’ve received such an overwhelmingly warm welcome from the Country Music fans and the artists that we couldn’t wait to return to Fan Fair again,” said Sheraton Kalouria, Senior Vice President, NBC Daytime. “We look forward to a long-term successful partnership with CMA and increasing our involvement in this wonderful event.”

“The NBC Daytime stars really get immersed in the event and are such a big hit with the fans that we are thrilled to have them again,” said CMA Executive Director Ed Benson.

“The response from Country fans to the NBC Daytime stars has been overwhelming. Country fans are huge fans of both ‘Days’ and ‘Passions’ and the actors are huge fans of Country Music,” said CMA Senior Director of Strategic Marketing Rick Murray. “We are also very excited to add the ‘After MidNite’ promotion this year. Listeners will be able to learn more about Fan Fair and hear what is going on behind the scenes of ‘Days’ and ‘Passions’ directly from the actors. The chance to win two prizes – a trip to Fan Fair and a walk-on role on ‘Days’ – is a once in a lifetime opportunity.”

Murray added, “We have been honored to have NBC Daytime as a partner over the past three years and look forward to working with the NBC family for many years to come.”

Veritas: The Quest!...

Sad to say, it looks like Veritas has been pulled from the ABC schedule.

Per Ryan Merriman's website:

"Veritas" is about a father and son archaeology team ( Sort of like an Indiana Jones series). Ryan plays Nikko the son. The series has been put on hiatus by ABC due to the War. They advise all episodes will air at a later date.

American Dreams... the latest from NBC about this great show!

Recording stars B2K, Vivian Green and Duncan Sheik hit their marks as the newest guest stars this spring on NBC's "American Dreams" (Sundays, 8-9 p.m. ET). The series matches classic with contemporary as it uses today's au courant recording stars to portray famous musical icons of the mid-1960s, the tumultuous era that is depicted in "American Dreams." For example, Recent Grammy-winners Usher played Motown legend Marvin Gaye, while Michelle Branch played pop princess Lesley Gore. Likewise, Grammy-winners Ashanti embodied Dionne Warwick and India.Arie gave voice to activist singer Nina Simone.

The newest wave of musical guest-stars includes Vivian Green (http://www.viviangreen.com), whose debut album "A Love Story," climbed the Billboard charts and was named one of the 10 best albums of 2002 by USA Today. She will portray Motown great Brenda Holloway in an episode airing Sunday, April 6 (8-9 p.m. ET) and will sing Holloway's hit, "Every Little Bit Hurts."

R&B artists B2K will appear as the Temptations performing “My Girl” on the recreated “American Bandstand” set on an April episode. B2K scored platinum album sales with their self-titled debut and hooked the nation with their number one hit “Uh Huh.” Nearly a year later, the LA-based foursome have proved lightening can strike twice with their follow-up CD “Pandemonium” which spawned the hit single “Bump, Bump, Bump,” a duet with P. Diddy. The group has been nominated for two MTV Video Music Awards, two American Music Awards and won BET's coveted Viewer's Choice award. In addition, they were voted "Best Group" by the editors of Vibe magazine as part of their annual "Vibe of the Year Awards," and received a Billboard Music Award for having the "biggest selling R&B single of the year".

Duncan Sheik's album "Daylight" was hailed by People magazine as one of last year's "10 Best." The South Carolina native will play the memorable Bobby Darin and will sing the late star's hit song "Beyond the Sea" in an episode airing Sunday, March 30 (8-9 p.m. ET). That episode will also feature Grammy-winner LeAnn Rimes. Rimes will appear as Connie Francis performing “Where the Boys Are” on the re-created set of “American Bandstand.”

It might be a bit farfetched to hint that the road to Grammy gold made a detour through the nostalgic drama “American Dreams” - but at this year’s Grammy Awards, recent musical performers/guest-stars took home some heavy-duty hardware. Usher won for Best Male R &B Vocal, Performance for "U Don't Have to Call"; Ashanti received one of the honors for Best Contemporary R&B Album for "Ashanti" and India.Arie earned Best Urban/Alternative Performance for her track of "Little Things." Branch earned a statuette with Santana for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals for their song "The Game of Love." In addition, multi-Grammy winner Art Garfunkel - who has a recurring role as the owner of a record shop with a performance stage - also received a Grammy with former partner Paul Simon for Lifetime Achievement.
Click on me for the latest trailer for the WB show CHARMED!
"We couldn't be luckier to find so many talented contemporary artists who choose to pay homage to their heroes on our show," said Jonathan Prince, "American Dreams" creator and executive producer. "And, when I watched the Grammy's - with so many of those singers winning awards and appearing on the show - I thought the credits for that show might have read - 'The Grammy Awards: starring the All-Star guest cast of 'American Dreams'."
