CBS ANNOUNCES WEDNESDAY NIGHT'S "STAR SEARCH" PERFORMERS
Unfinished Finale To Kick Off Third Round of All-New "Star Search" Competition
LeAnn Rimes To Serve As Celebrity Guest Judge on "Star Search,"
To Be Broadcast Wednesday, April 2
CBS will broadcast the remaining categories from the previously interrupted STAR SEARCH finale during the premiere edition of the series third round of competition, Wednesday, April 2 (8:00-9:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. LeAnn Rimes will serve as the celebrity guest judge. Regular celebrity judges include, Naomi Judd, Ben Stein and Ahmet Zappa.
On April 2, the Junior Singer and Young Dancer winners from the March 19 broadcast will be recapped for audiences while the Comedians and Adult Singers will be able to perform to determine the winners in each category.
Immediately after completing the finale, the next round of STAR SEARCH will begin with new performers competing in each category. (*Please note: There will not be a Comic Category tonight; the category will resume during the Friday, April 4 show.) The new tournament, featuring 13 original episodes, will be broadcast twice weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT both nights).
STAR SEARCH is a one-hour series featuring live tournament-style competitions in four categories -- adult singer, junior singer, comic and young dancer (new category) -- culminating in the grand-prize winning STAR in each category. Voting will be done by a panel of both celebrity judges and viewers at home via the Internet who will determine the winners and $100,000 grand prize winner in each category.
