Who says Primetime is nothing but reruns during the summer? NBC’s “Just Shoot Me” will add some mid-summer night laughs when the veteran comedy series returns to the NBC’s Saturday lineup with a double dose of original episodes beginning, Saturday, July 12 (8-8:30 p.m. ET and 8:30-9 p.m. ET). In the first episode, “The Talented Mr. Finch,” on Saturday, July 12 (8-8:30 p.m. ET), Finch (David Spade) forgets to tell Jack (George Segal) about an important meeting with foreign clients, so he assumes Jack's identity and attempts to close a deal without Jack's knowledge. Meanwhile, Nina (Wendie Malick) and her rock star boyfriend Simon (guest star Simon Templeman) force themselves to go clean in an attempt to get Nina's hard-partying granddaughter (guest star Sasha Barrese) to change her ways. Laura San Giacomo, Enrico Colantoni and Rena Sofer (star of NBC’s new fall comedy “Coupling”) also star. Following on the same night (8:30-9 p.m. ET) is “There’s Something About Allison,” as Jenny McCarthy ("The Jenny McCarthy Show") returns to guest-star as Finch's best friend, Bert -- now a transsexual named Brandy - who joins Finch as a couple at their high school reunion in order for Finch to arrive with a beautiful blonde while Bert can attend without revealing his true identity. At the reunion, the girl they both competed for in high school (guest star Kristy Swanson, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer") hits it off with Brandy and reveals her past crush on Bert. Meanwhile, Maya (Laura San Giacomo) and Elliott (Enrico Colantini) decide to become intimate -- with no strings attached. George Segal and Wendie Malick also star. Guest starring in subsequent episodes are Jon Lovitz (NBC's "Saturday Night Live”), Gina Gershon (“Showgirls”), Richard Kind (“Spin City”), Amy Yasbeck (NBC’s “Wings), David Cross (“Scary Movie II”) Alan Rachins and Corbin Bernson (“L.A. Law”).
