ANDREAS KATSULAS RETURNS TO DRAGON*CON
(ATLANTA,
GA) -- Andreas Katsulas
may not be a household name, but his deep timbre voice is remarkably
recognizable. To Science Fiction fans, he is best known as the Narn Ambassador
(now Citizen) G’Kar on Babylon 5.
As a Narn in full makeup, he is hardly a face to remember, but Andreas Katsulas
is a face you will know. With a career that has spanned over four decades, he
has established himself in film, TV and theater.
St. Louis native Katsulas started his acting career with a 15-year stint in Peter Brook's International Touring Company. Brook, one of the most innovative and important theatre directors of the 20th century, taught his pupil well.
Following a few minor film and TV roles, Katsulas truly started his career in The Sicilian. Inspired, Katsulas headed to Hollywood where he picked up a role in Someone to Watch Over Me after only two weeks in LA. This was soon followed by roles in Sunset, Next of Kin, Communion, True Identity, Blame It On The Bellboy, Hot Shots Part Deux and Executive Decision. But perhaps his most memorable film role is that of the one-armed man in The Fugitive. He is currently featured in an independent film, A Piece of Eden, a bittersweet comedy that follows three generations of the unlucky Tredici family from Corsica in the 1940's to an Indiana fruit farm in the present.
With his gravely voice and sinister brow, it is easy to see why Katsulas has
been cast as a
Dragon*Con fans may remember Katsulas from Dragon*Con 2000 when he co-hosted the masquerade with Chase Masterson of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine fame. Not so ironic when you know that Katsulas himself is Star Trek alumni, playing Romulan Commander Tomalak in several Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes, including the 2-part series finale “All Good Things…”.
Katsulas returns to Dragon*Con this year, along with B5 co-star Julie Caitlin Brown, who played ambassador G’Kar’s Narn attaché, Na’Toth.
