Tony Amendola missed at least one I believe two days of his scheduled signings at the San Diego Comic Con, but he was not in the least embarrassed to admit why -- he'd been given the opportunity to audition for roles on shows he very much wanted to be a part of.  To that end the San Diego Comic Con being just a hop skip and half a jump down the freeway from Los Angeles is a tremendous advantage!

I know his black and white photographs were $15 as I picked one up, and we had a delightful conversation while he signed it.

I think the amused smile on his face here truly says volumes, he was enjoying his time when the fans were there... and when the line died down (at first I couldn't get near him...)

He took no offense, but sat back and relaxed knowing more of us would find him in time... just as more and more fans have found his work on Stargate with time.
