Type of Food: Italian

Recommended Items: The Sensible Fare items seem to be the safest. I had the Mediterranean Shrimp and only had to eliminate the seasonings on the shrimp. Any grill item can be prepared gluten free.

comments: I had a surprisingly good experience at Macaroni Grill. My kids love to go there, so I gave in and took them. The manager/chef came to my table and assured me that any of the grill items could be prepared gluten free, and that they thoroughly clean the grill before cooking each grill item. He also said that they would substitute pasta for vegetables for an entree that serves the pasta as a side. He said that the company has been making extra efforts lately to accommodate people with various allergies/intolerences. When you visit, just tell your wait person of your needs and he will pass the information on to the chef(s). Check out the menu at a location near you at www.macaronigrill.com. It was very fresh and tasty. All in all I was impressed with how knowledgeable they were about their items and whether or not they contained gluten.

This recommendation thanks to Adele Peterman who last ate there: September 14, 2004
